We have created a department that gives advice on all energy usages, i.e. heat, light, power, combustion and conservation. We also offer co-ordination of energy conservation programmes and technical training courses. We are actively involved in Combined Heat and Power (CHP) and waste heat incineration studies.

Solar energy panels have been installed in local homes as a part of their Decent Homes program to help reduce the cost of hot water bills.

The panels, mounted on a convenient south facing roof, circulate hot water to a modified
storage tank of a conventional heating system

Natural gas engine powers a compressor to recover heat from the moist extract air, with additional heat recovery to the pool water, HWS and space heating. Winner of a Gas Energy Management award.
